Live script reading of THE ROOM
Greg Sestero (Mark) in attendance!
BUY TICKETS ($15)
Greg Sestero revisits his role as Mark for a live script reading of the original draft of the modern cult classic, The Room! Major parts will be read by pre-casted local talent while minor roles and the coveted lead will be read by audience members (info below).
Greg Sestero is the author of the best-selling memoir The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made, the film adaptation of which recently received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. He re-teamed with The Room creator Tommy Wiseau on the currently screening Best F(r)iends, which Sestero also wrote.
Dubbed “the Citizen Kane of bad movies” by Entertainment Weekly, filmmaker/actor Tommy Wiseau’s romantic “disasterpiece” The Room continues to screen to sell out audiences twelve years after its premiere. It is without argument the most mainstream-recognized example of bad filmmaking since 1959’s Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Script reading info: Minor roles in the film will be filled by audience members on the night-of, random selection. For those interested in shouldering the burden of portraying Johnny, e-mail a quick audition (it can be a cell phone video) showing off your best impression to: ericbresler[at]philamoca.org. Bonus points for costumes.
